In addition to the materials used, in producing a high end lens, surface processing technology has a major role. The newest technology used for processing lenses is Free Form technology, which implies surface processing point by point. Using automatic CNC machines, the surfaces are milled and drilled with one micron accuracy.
Free Form concept is currently used by all important manufactures that are on the market. There are several different point by point process technologies. Depending on their complexity, they consist of several operations. At Interoptik, we use 4 last generation production lines: a conventional FreeForm line, found in most production labs, that we use for producing Aveo 3F lenses, and three advanced FreeForm lines with ADP (Active Driven Polishing), a technology derived from surface processing in fine optics.
Is a complex mathematical method of calculating optic surface that we use in optimizing Interoptik lenses.
Using this technology we make sure that each point is analyzed and optimized to increase optical performance and reduce the influence of higher and lower order aberrations on image formation.
BASE CURVE EFFECT
When the diopter produced deviates from the median diopter of the semi finished lens, base curve effect appears and influences optical properties, causing distortions or magnifications.
In order to reduce the base curve effect, in producing Interoptik lenses, we use a finer graduation of the base curves. Therefor, we use 20 different base curves, compared to only 6 base curves used on standard lenses.
ACTIVE POLISHING - ADP
Active Driven Polishing or active polishing guided by CNC machines is an unique surface polishing technology of optical surfaces from Interoptik. We have continuously improved this technology since its launch in 2011.
The innovative Active Driven Polishing production process in 5 steps involves optimized and improved processing with 5 operations, compared to just 3 operations used in conventional FreeForm processing.
ATORICAL OPTIMIZATION - AOT
Atorical Optimization Technology – atorical optimization technology of the base curve system. Each Interoptik lens produced with AOT is customized for each prescription. After introducing prescription data, are being analyzed 6400 different visual angles the eye looks through the lens.
Each visual point is optimized and adapted for the angle the eye looks through, in other words the lens is composed of several thousand lenses individually calculated for each visual angle.
The inset is the decentration of near zone from far zone. This differs from one person to another, because the effort of convergence depends directly on the pupillary distance. People with wider pupillary distances make a greater convergence effort than the ones with nearer pupillary distance, in order to look at the same distance.
Interoptik modern progressive lenses take into account the pupillary distance for each wearer when customizing the inset (near zone positioning), offering perfect localization of near and intermediate zone.
